Gas negotiations with China to finish in May

“Gazprom” and the Russian Government hold negotiations with China on a supply of gas. The deputy chairman of the Board of Management V.Golubev said.
“We may finish by May,” he said. China expects a visit of the chairman of the Board of Management of “Gazprom” A.Miller to the country, Vedomosti writes.

UC Rusal improves structure and technological parameters of electrolytic furnace RA-400

UC Rusal, one of the world's leading aluminum producers, has announced implementation of a project to improve supermodern electrolytic furnaces RA-400. The improved construction of electrolytic furnaces and new technological options can reduce power consumption to 12 900 kWh /t with a current yield of 95.5% at a current intensity of 435 kA. The total amount of investments into development of the RA- 400 technology, including creation of experimental industrial building, made up about $70 million.
RA-400 is an own development of specialists of the UC Rusal’ Engineering and Technology Centre.

Russian platinum can buy Norilsk Nickel’s preparation plant.

The group of Musa Bazhaev’s companies "Russian platinum" are considering the purchase of the Norilsk preparation plant (NPP) from MMC "Norilsk Nickel" for processing ore from its fields - Montenegrin and southern Norilsk-1, "Russian platinum" representative told Itar – Tass. According to him, in any case, "Russian platinum" plans to build a mining and processing works on the Montenegrin copper-nickel deposit with the capacity of 6 million tons of ore per year.
"As one of the options we are also looking at the possibility of buying Norilsk preparation plant from "Norilsk Nickel" ", - the representative of "Russian platinum" stated.

Gazprom’s head discuss perspectives of the extension of cooperation with the ambassador of France

Gazprom’s head Alexei Miller held a working meeting with ambassador of France to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert. The meeting was held against the background of increasing tension between Russia and the European Union and threats from the latter to reduce dependence on the supplies of Russian energy sources. The parties discussed status of the Russian-French partnership in the sector of energy and considered perspectives of the cooperation extension.

A.Yatsenyuk. Ukraine may establish 25 bln cubic meters of gas supply a year from the EU

Technically, Ukraine may arrange the supply of 25 billion cubic meters of gas a year from the EU countries. A.Yatsenyuk said.
He asserted that diversification of gas supply is one of the top targets of the Ukraine to date. This topic was discussed at the meeting with the tops of government of Ukraine and the EU delegation.
“According to our assessment, it is possible to supply 25 billion cubic meters of gas a year, which will be by $100/per 1000 cubic meters less than the supplies from Russia,” A.Yatsenyuk said at a joint press-conference with the Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

Polyus freezes dividends in spite of profit on results of 2013

Polyus Gold, which made the profit in the amount of $143 million in 2013, won’t pay dividends for the first time since the crisis 2008. The company needs money for development, only capital investments for this year are estimated at about $700 million. According to analysts, the company will return to payments to shareholders not earlier than in 2015.
The largest Russian gold-mining company Poluys Gold (40.22% are controlled by Senator Suleiman Kerimov) won’t pay dividends for 2013: such recommendation was given by its Board of Directors yesterday. Polyus explained that it will be more reasonable to save the profit for the development of the company. The reduction of gold prices by 17% led to decrease in the Polyus’ net profit 6.7 times to $143 million in 2013 (the proceeds fell by 13% to $2.3 billion). The second Russian gold miner, which announced accounting for the previous year – Nordgold of Alexei Mordashov – made the loss in the amount of $170 million, but it will pay dividends for $5.4 million.

Russian Ministry of Energy discusses Rosneft’s proposal on gas supplies to Power of Siberia

The Russian Ministry of Energy has begun to consider Rosneft’s proposals on gas supplies from its fields to the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, which is designed by Gazprom; it’s too early to draw any conclusions, - director of the Energy Ministry’s Department of Production and Transportation of Oil and Gas Alexander Gladkov reported.

Rosneft and Petrovietnam are going to broaden cooperation

Rosneft and the Government of Vietnam have discussed the future projects aimed to fuel supplies and production at shelf. These data were presented in the press-release of the Russian oil company compiled under the results of the meeting of the President of Rosneft I. Sechin , the President of Vietnam C. T. Sang and the Premier of Vietnam N. T. Zung. The sides stated successful cooperation of Petrovietnam and Rosneft. They also discussed broadening of cooperation, in particular, in the sphere of the long-term oil supplies.

Rosneft has 51% in Brazilian project Solimoyns

Rosneft’s subsidiary Rosneft Brazil has signed a contract with Brazilian company HRT O&G on final agreements within purchase of additional share in the amount of up to 6% within the Solimoyns project, the largest Russian oil company reports.

Gazprom prepares for possible problems with transit through the Ukraine
