A new Mill-5000 is launched in Nizhny Novgorod region

A new “Mill-5000” with a production capacity of up to 1.5 million tons of wide sheet products a year from high-test steel grade is being launched today. According to preliminary data, the Vyksunsky complex will be up and running at full capacity by the end of 2012.
The main contractor of the building operation is German Strabag. The main supplier of the equipment is SMS Siemag AG (Germany). The total volume of investments into the project is 45 billion roubles. Read more »

Japanese companies may join Sakhalin-3

Russia and Japan plan to conclude an agreement in the area of energy cooperation in the next few years, in particular, the joining of Japan to Sakhlin-3 project is possible, a top source in the Japan government said.

Lukoil starts building two huge oil platforms for North Caspian

United Shipbuilding Company (OSK) obtained an order from Lukoil for the building of a drilling platform (14 billion rubles) for Caspian works. The second order for the same sum was made to former subsidiary structure of Lukoil Globalstroy Engineering. Gazprom plans to start gas supplies to South Korea in 2017

Third German company obtains a gas discount from Gazprom

A new client of Gazprom in Germany – Verbundnetz Gas (VNG AG) – has gained a gas discount from the monopoly. The company is one of the largest gas suppliers in Eastern Germany and Gazprom holds 10.5% of its shares. Russia. Japan wants to participate in Sakhalin-3

Japan addressed Russia with a request to participate in the new project on the development of natural gas near Sakhalin. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kōichirō Genba asked about it to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia V.Khristenko during their meeting in Tokyo on Monday. TVEL to found metallurgical center on the basis of Chepets mechanic plant

The fuel company of Rosatom TVEL will found on the basis of Chepets mechanic plant OAO (in the structure of the fuel company TVEL) a metallurgical center. The first Vice-President of TVEL OAO, V. Rozhdestvensky, said at the meeting of the plant, the report says. According to the conception of the forming and development, on the basis of Chepets mechanic plant is it planned to join a few new directions of the plant’s activity. CNPC is interested in participation in development of the Kovykta and Chayandy deposits. Their reserves are correspondently 1.5 trillion cubic m of gas and at least 1.3 trillion cubic m of gas. The company is interested as well in the project of the construction of a pipeline from Russia to South Korea. Last week the representatives of the Chinese power sector negotiated with Gazprom. Gazprom is ready to consider a possibility of extra supplies of LNG to Japan

There was held a working meeting of the chairman of the Board of Management A.Miller and CEO of Mitsui M.Iidzima. The parties discussed possible directions of cooperation, focused on the restoration of a stable energy supply to Japan.
The participants of the meeting agreed that above-target liquefied natural gas volumes, delivered by Gazprom, has a significant meaning for the stabilization of energy supply of the country, the press-service of the Russian company states.
